Is Sixt a Reliable Car Rental Company

Consumer Tip: The fact that Sixt doesn`t feel obligated to reward rentals made in its name is something I`ve rented to Sixt several times and after this one it will forever be my last. In concept, they are great and have never had so many beautiful cars to choose from. In practice, I`ve been charged for damages I didn`t commit by them, I`ve been charged for a rental reservation that I cancelled less than 24 hours after a positive COVID exposure, they`ve charged me twice, they`ve charged me for fuel if I have a receipt proving I filled the tank, and then, to top it off, I turned unauthorized accusations from them into my AMEX as a scam, they turned around and chased me and even turned me into a coverup for those false accusations. Run, run far. Rent from Turo, Budget, National, Enterprise, Avis, Hertz, damn it, don`t rent from Sixt. Sixt is one of the best, albeit sometimes expensive, companies. Before the pandemic, Avis had promotional material stating that it had the largest fleet of automatic transmissions in Italy, which doesn`t predict the future well. Take a look at the Italian fleet of the different companies to get an idea. This is Avis Italy – www.avis.com/en/cars/vehicles/it which shows many manuals, but with Economy and Compact Elite categories with car as well as car in larger cars. This is Sixt Italy, which seems to have a lot and even has a switching view for automatic transmissions – www.sixt.com/#/fleet/selectcar/IT?auto=true Drive a premium car at unbeatable prices with Sixt rent a car More than 4,000 locations ✔ The largest premium car ✔ rental company ✔ PrePay & Save 20% ✔ I received a fake damage report (without any information about it) almost a month after returning the rental at the McCarren location in Las Vegas. The claim says they should always compile damage information and I should report a claim to my HA! I reported it to my insurance company as an attempted insurance fraud.

We`ll see how they like it. We think Sixt is the worst car rental company for a road trip in the US for a reason. Unlike most major national car rental companies, Sixt imposes strict restrictions on where you can drive its rental vehicles. You can learn about these restrictions in the fine print of the company`s rental policy and rules. This is an example of why it`s so important to always read the fine print before booking a rental car. It was the only company that had vehicles to rent, so I was forced to use them at the airport. I won`t use them anymore. I have now received a damage/accident letter, which makes no sense.

I returned the car in the same condition as when I took it out of parking lot 2. Shouldn`t they inform you of any damage when you return the vehicle when they find it? I don`t understand why 3 weeks later I get a letter saying that the vehicle has been damaged. When choosing a car rental company, your requirements should be unlimited mileage and very few geo-restrictions. That`s why Sixt is perhaps the worst car rental company for road trips in the United States. I rented three cars last summer, all in Italy, and had no problem getting an automatic car like I booked it. My first car was with Sixt (Pisa in Rome) and I had no problems, except that the smallest automatic car you could book in Pisa was a small SUV. The customer service and the vehicle itself were great. I would definitely rent from Sixt again, although in all the places I visit this summer, their prices are much higher than other companies. My biggest concern now when choosing an owner is reading the reviews on Google and, of course, the total price. If I could give this crappy society fewer stars, I would. These are the worst I`ve ever seen in my life.

I paid with my credit card for a 2021 Chrysler 300 they didn`t have, then they charged me an extra $100 for a 2008 Buick Lacrosse that they claimed was an upgrade, and then charged my account a $500 deposit. And when I got the car back to them on time and cleaned it, they kept $300 of the deposit and nothing was going well with the car. This company should be banned as soon as possible, especially the one in Philadelphia I made a reservation with this company and after clicking the “Submit” button they tell you they will keep an extra $500 on your credit card, unfortunately I was traveling for a funeral and couldn`t afford to have so many things pending, So I literally cancelled 30 minutes later and they charged me $100!!! My reservation was only $200. Again, they don`t move. But then I read the reviews and feel like I probably got away with it because it seems like they aren`t very reliable anyway. I had an unfortunate experience with Sixt during the festive week of Christmas and New Year in Florida. I had rented a limousine at Orlando MCO Airport on 23.12. to 1.12. I had requested an upgrade to a luxury sedan on 23.12. and I got a BMW 5 Series, which was almost twice as high as my original lease amount. I accepted because I had always wanted to drive a BMW 5 Series. But there were 3 problems I faced as follows:1).

I asked if I needed a toll stamp or if I could pay tolls on silver lanes on highways. I told them I was going to drive to Key West. A representative for Sixt told me that all highways leading to Key West have money runways. This turned out to be false. Luckily, I had asked about it at my hotel in Orlando and they laughed at me. They said that even for the trip from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale, there are no money roads. So I got a Walgreens sun pass and was spared high tolls.2). The BMW`s air conditioning was unpredictable. It worked sometimes and didn`t work at other times. It was okay when I was in Orlando, where the weather wasn`t so bad. But when I went to Key West, my son got sick because of the extreme heat. It was just very bad in a family vacation on a festive occasion to make your child sick because a basic function of a car fails; Just a luxury car.3).
