Technical cooperation between PAHO and WHO in Venezuela is mainly carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Health and its affiliated institutions. It also cooperates with other public sector institutions, research centres, universities, scientific societies and civil society. The representation of PAHO/WHO in Venezuela was formalized in 1958, since then it has been developing technical cooperation in the health sector and responds both to the national priorities set by the country and to the policy of the organization resulting from agreements between all Member States in the governing bodies of the organization: the Pan American Health Conference, the Governing Council and the Executive Committee.
