The law permeates most aspects of our professional lives and few decisions have no legal implications. In a business environment, the law regulates who can hire and fire companies, liability for people raped in business premises and labor/management relations, among other things. On the other hand, organizations hire non-legal professionals to manage the company`s most important asset, its human talent. These employees are usually trained in personnel management. In practice, lawyers and HR managers work hand in hand to resolve employee issues and legal regulations on compliance issues. A law major with a minor in human resource management is a natural complement. Students learn the legal implications of a business decision and are at the same time exposed to the management and human aspects of that decision, exposing them practically to these issues. Compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations also requires HR practitioners to consider the legal implications of hiring, training, coaching, disciplining, and firing individual employees. Major organizational issues such as layoffs, restructuring, outsourcing, benefits, and retirement programs and decisions must also be made in accordance with the law.
