Legal Sea Foods began in 1950 as a fish market in the Inman Square neighborhood of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Here, the name “Legal” has become synonymous with quality and freshness. In 1968, our first fish restaurant opened, right next to the fish market. The fish was simply prepared, fried or fried, and served on paper plates at shared picnic tables. Despite the restricted traps, the food was second to none, and the news spread quickly. This early success led to further expansion and now, six decades later, with East Coast restaurants, the commitment to freshness and quality remains: “If it`s not fresh, it`s not legal!” We believe that a visit to Boston should include a meal at Legal Sea Foods.
